Everyone has cravings, even me, especially chocolate cravings. There is nothing wrong with having a small treat a day, however you can choose a healthier options. For example, one of my favorite daily snacks is a handful of almonds mixed with a handful dark chocolate chips. Dark chocolate is full of antioxidants and has been found to lower blood pressure and in some cases improve mood. Almonds are high in fiber, protien, and potassium. So what I call “the power combo” of almonds and dark chocolate chips will fulfill your craving and keep you healthy at the same time. My motto, “it’s all about moderation and choosing the healthy choice”!

Most women notice a decrease in libido after baby because they’re tired and overwhelmed. The key to boosting your desire is through feeling connected to your husband or partner. I say, “date your mate”. Your date need not cost a dime…you can enjoy each other’s company at home. Cuddle and watch a movie, share a dessert, and keep the focus on the two of you rather than your kids. Notice how when you’re feeling connected your desire will increase. Make “we” time a priority- the more connected you feel emotionally and physically the better you’ll both feel!

Imagine turning up to a weight loss retreat at 114kg, approx 172cm tall, and smoking 1 pack of cigarettes a day. Well thats what one of our recent 'graduates' did, she gave up the smokes and committed to imrpoving her health. It was tough at the beginning but she had a 'can do' attitude and just persevered. That's not to say I didn't get my fair share of death-stares along the way but she was strong, and kept moving forward.
When she first arrived, probably her first week, I took the group for a walk/run in the rain. She only had to run in 10m lots but she struggled greatly with that. As each new fortnight arrived her only wish was that someone with less fitness than her would arrive, so she wasn't always last.
Well 12 weeks later and she too reached her goal of being able to run for 10km. Not only that but she could run 2-3 times per day, averaging approximately 6-8km per session.
It's people like this that really make my work worthwhile. She was very unfit, and although it hurt a great deal she worked hard and stayed committed. For that she has my respect!

You’ll be much more likely to stick with an exercise program if you’re working out with a friend or group. To start a group ask fellow neighbors if they’d like to walk or workout then set a couple of days to workout for the week. Once you have a group to workout with you’ll be more motivated because you’ll enjoy the social interaction. Once the group gets going start challenging each other to workout a little harder. You’ll love the connection and you’ll love the physical and mental/emotional results from forming a group!
